LA BOMBA PUERTORRIQUEÑA(Bomba Music)
Bomba Percussion Workshop: A quality bilingual Bomba percussion workshop in which we teach the history of Bomba music, how to play the instruments, the vocal calls and responses, the different rhythms (like Cunyá, Sicá, Yubá and Holandé) and the regions they came from, and poetry.
Bomba Dance Workshop: A quality Bomba dance workshop in which we teach the many different steps and dances associated with Bomba, the history of Bomba dance, the customs within Bomba, and discuss the costumes worn while dancing Bomba.
LA PLENA PUERTORRIQUEÑA (Plena Music)
Plena Percussion Workshop: A quality bilingual Plena percussion workshop in which we teach the history of Plena music, how to play the instruments, the vocal call and responses, the different rhythms and the regions they came from.
Plena Dance Workshop: A quality Plena dance workshop in which we teach the many different steps and dances associated with Plena, the history of Plena dance, the customs within Plena, and choreograph a Plena dance at the end of the month.
FIESTAS PATRONALES DE PUERTO RICO
A quality bilingual workshop in which we teach the history of Fiestas patronales and processions in Puerto Rico, the process of mask making, the costumes worn during the "fiestas", and the many characters associated with Fiestas patronales (like the Vejigantes and caballeros), in Puerto Rico and associated with the new Characters from Rhode Island.
