La exhibición esta expuesta al publico en general los Martes, Miercoles de 5:00pm a 6:00pm seguida por las clases de Bomba.

BOMBA AND PLENA IN THE BIG LEAGUE.   A SPARK IN THE CURRICULUM AND IN THE EDUCATION OF HARTFORD, CT A 90 minute carnival-style workshop introduces students to Puerto Rican culture. Students will explore Puerto Rican traditions like"BOMBA AND PLENA" dance, mask making, costume showcasing, and poetry reciting. The workshop will also introduce students to fun call and response songs. At the conclusion of the workshop students will put what they have learned to the test as they play instruments, and perform the songs, giving them a more personal experience with the Puerto Rican culture. The workshop was held at Hartford Stage Rehearsal Studios on Main St., in Connecticut as an introduction for teachers in the Professional Development Conference-2013. Develan el Monumento La Familia Puertorriqueña

Hartford, Connecticut: ARTE, CULTURA E HISTORIA fue lo que se compartió el dia 23 de septiembre de 2009. Día donde un gran numero representativo de Puertorriqueños de la isla conmemora el Grito de Lares reuniéndose precisamente en el pueblo donde nace la Historia. Para aquellos que no están a tono con lo sucedido, un 23 de septiembre del 1868, un grupo de patriotas puertorriqueños llevó a cabo un levantamiento contra los españoles. Este levantamiento se conoce como el Grito de Lares. En Hartford, CT, sin embargo se hace otra historia. La de-velación del monumento a La Familia Puertorriqueña. El evento comenzó a las 10:00a.m. en el "Learning Corridor", Hartford, CT. Como maestro de ceremonia el Sr. Luis C. Lydia Perez Biography

Lydia Perez – Born in San Juan, Capital of Puerto Rico, she grew up in the town of “La Central” or “Hoyo Mula de Canóvanas”. She graduated from the Inter-American University, Magna Cum Laude, in June of 1989, with a Bachelor's in Business Administration. Four months later, she and her husband decided to move to Attleboro, Massachusetts. A year later, her husband bought a house in Warwick, Rhode Island. She has been living in Rhode Island for 32 years. Lydia lives with Wendell Rivera-Davila, her husband (retired from the Armed Forces), and her two daughters Yidell and Dorothy Rivera, all of them members of Lydia's nationally acclaimed group, Yoruba2. Lydia is a highly accomplished and dynamic performer. She presents traditional music, workshops and productions from Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
