NATIONAL ARTIST EXPRESSED HERSELF THROUGH HER CULTURE AND HERITAGE  BRINGING THE BEST  OF PUERTO RICO Lydia Perez, Performing Arts Lydia Perez – Born in San Juan, Capital of Puerto Rico, she grew up in the town of “La Central” or “Hoyo Mula de Canóvanas”. She graduated from the Inter-American University, Magna Cum Laude, in June of 1989, with a Bachelor's in Business Administration. Four months later, she and her husband decided to move to Attleboro, Massachusetts. A year later, her husband bought a house in Warwick, Rhode Island. She has been living in Rhode Island for 21 years.  Lydia is a highly accomplished and dynamic performer. She presents traditional music, workshops and productions from Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Lydia Perez Biography

Lydia Perez – Born in San Juan, Capital of Puerto Rico, she grew up in the town of “La Central” or “Hoyo Mula de Canóvanas”. She graduated from the Inter-American University, Magna Cum Laude, in June of 1989, with a Bachelor's in Business Administration. Four months later, she and her husband decided to move to Attleboro, Massachusetts. A year later, her husband bought a house in Warwick, Rhode Island. She has been living in Rhode Island for 32 years. Lydia lives with Wendell Rivera-Davila, her husband (retired from the Armed Forces), and her two daughters Yidell and Dorothy Rivera, all of them members of Lydia's nationally acclaimed group, Yoruba2. CULMINARON LAS CLASES AFRO-ANTILLANAS EN CITY ARTS

Providence, Rhode Island: Las clases afro-antillanas en City Arts culminaron el 2 de abril de 2009. El espectáculo que se efectúo en el salón de música como cierre de las seis semanas de residencia de Lydia Perez, trajo alegría y admiración de los padres. Los padres quedaron perplejos al ver a sus tímidos hijos bailando y tocando los ritmos antillanos. Ms. Perez, como los estudiantes la llaman, se dio a la tarea de montar unas estampas caribeñas según el rendimiento de cada estudiantes. Explicó con máximo detalles junto con la actuación de los estudiantes los ritmos que fueron ejecutados. Bachata y Palo de la República Dominicana, Plena dramatizada con Poema de Don Luis Pales Matos, Salsa y Bomba de Puerto Rico. La explicación fueron orientadas tanto en el idioma ingles como en español.
