HECTOR ROMAN My work is influenced by indigenous cultures from the Caribbean to all around the world. Thousands of year’s worth of knowledge disappearing before our eyes. With my recent pieces I’ve been focused on “invasion of a space”, to destroy and to erase any trace of a sacred land. Asphalt and earth is my medium to represent my paintings, asphalt representing our use of highways and fuel, dividing, contaminating and creating boundaries reducing space. Earth representing the sacredness of land, cultures and traditions.

Providence, RI Desde su comienzo el dia 2 de septiembre hasta su final 30 de septiembre del 2008 se estaba cocinado una exhibición que se esperaba con mucho acierto que iba a culminar con gran éxito. En la "URI Feinstain Providence Campus" se llevó a cabo un evento que hizo historia. La exhibición de "ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: The Atmosphere of Puerto Rico's Landscapes as Setting MY PUERTO RICO" . Este evento se hizo notorio por el arduo manejo de coordinación, mercadeo y ejecución de dos grandes artistas de renombre en Rhode Island. Steven Spenell,Coordinador de Arte y Cultura de la Universidad de Rhode Island y la Sra. Lydia Perez, Presidente y CEO de "The Puerto Rican Institute for Arts and Advocacy, Inc". Artistas de renombre internacional, tanto en las Artes plásticas como en "Artes escénicos" nos deleitaron con sus tertulias y encuentro con la patria. Tan grande fue el avivamiento de anunciar el evento como la magnitud de entusiasmo
