Warwick, Rhode Island: Hace varios años develaron la estatua de Cesar Chavez en la Avenidad Chalkstone, en Providence y alli se encuentra nuestro Cesar Chavez en una postura de "SI SE PUEDE". Todavia esas palabras estan en nuestros corazones porque de verdad que con muchas ganas SI SE PUEDE.... Aqui les dejo con el reportaje y unas fotos de  ese dia tan especial para muchos.  Waleska Santiago, President Waleska Santiago  was a consultant for the Explorations in Puerto Rican Culture Program, run by the Massachussetts Cultural Council and the Springfield School Department. Over the last 14 year, she has pursued her interest in Latin American Art by visiting museums and galleries internationally  including Spain, England, Argentina, Mexico, Peru , and France. She has a BA in Art History from Mount Holyoke College and persue her Master Degree in Harvard University. Waleska Santiago had been selected as a Latino Museum Studies Student at the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), Smithsonia Institute, Washington DC. as a Fellow. Her trajectory of research project has been: Women Artist in the Spanish-Speaking Caribbean , and included listings of women artist from Puerto Rico, Cuba and the Dominican Republic, born before 1900,  Nuestras Abuelas ,  and  Madama: Women, Madonnas, and Mothers among others. MEXICO   Veronica Robles, de "Orales con Veronica" de Telemundo y Lydia Pérez de "La Bomba Puertorriqueña" del Instituto Puertorriqueño de Arte y Abogacía  hacen un mano a mano demonstrando que en la unión esta la fuerza.   Veronica es un "Award winning Mariachi Singer" y  Lydia Pérez un "National Award winning Bomba Traditional Music".

CARIBBEAN ARTS PROGRAM

Bomba ! BOMBA is designed to teach children and teachers  about Puerto Rican and Caribbean history and culture through the use of traditional music and dance called Bomba , along with other rhythms commonly found in the Caribbean. Bomba is the traditional music and dance style that developed during the Spanish colonization of Puerto Rico as a way of communication between slaves working on the sugar cane plantations on the coasts of Puerto Rico.  Students will learn the basics of Bomba in the form of call and response, where the instructor will chant a said phrase or call, and the students respond with the appropriate answer. Students will also learn about the dance of Bomba , which is presented in the form of a game: a completion between dancer and drummer where the dancer will try to outwit the lead drummer with their movements, in turn creating their own rhythm. The younger students (pre-k to 4 th grade) will focus on call and response and dance, while the older student
